“I had been experiencing pain on the left side of my neck for years especially when doing keyhole surgery for long periods. I assume this was related to a previous injury which never quite healed. No amount of stretches or manipulation would ease the pain. I had not ever realised that my range of motion was reduced at my neck.
At the third session with Dene a combination of manipulation and neuromuscular trigger point needling suddenly relieved this chronic ache and tightness on the left side. I have a new range of motion on the opposite side which I haven’t had for years and the pains on the left side are much improved. Hopefully I should get further improvements with more sessions.”

I suffered from neck problems for years. In the end the pain was so bad I was taking pain killers constantly. Every position I stood or sat in was uncomfortable and even sleeping in bed was uncomfortable. I had visited chiropractors, osteopaths and a physio and the relief was only ever short lived.
I started to visit Dene and within a few sessions I began to feel some relief. He was able to identify the problem muscle areas in my neck and shoulders and really focus in on them to help them become less problematic. He also worked closely with me to develop sets of stretching exercises and routines to help me help myself.
I was very nervous about the needle point therapy but after lengthy consultation Dene and myself decided it would be a good approach to try to give extra relief. I was amazed at how much better my neck and shoulder muscles felt after the needle treatment.
The treatment plan really worked for me. I am now able to manage my neck and shoulders issues myself through exercises and lifestyle changes he recommended. I still receive regular treatments from Dene but do not require them as frequently as I once did.Frank Smyth, Office Admin:20/05/10
“I visited Dene after months of suffering from constant tension headaches. I had previously received physio but only got limited relief and was resigned to relying on painkillers. Dene quickly diagnosed the problem as referred pain coming from a number of trigger points in my neck and shoulders. He suggested a course of needling to dissipate the points. This was effective and I experienced relief after the first couple of treatments.

“Dene has been treating me for about two years now on several injuries incurred over the years. The primary one was an injury I sustained skiing in the Italian Alps in February 2008. It was causing pins and needles down my left arm to my hand. After a series of treatments, Dene corrected the issue. But there is also another old shoulder injury, and the blown out left-leg hamstring, and… shall I go on? Needless to say, Dene has provided me relief on these problems. Do I recommend him? Boeringer charity cycle raised €5000 for children's hospital. Dene met them in Kenmare and provided sports massage mid way through their epic cycle!
